THE LEBANON WAR

This is the opening of his first artistic exhibit that connects the realities
of his life as a wounded soldier to his philosophical and artistic inspirations.
Yoram Chisin, an autodidact artist, deals with the visual translation of personal traumas from his military past and the very fact that he is a mentally wounded soldier. These constantly resonate in his work, even if his colorful paintings may be misleading to the eye. For him, color is just a material that has lost all aesthetic-visual functionality and is used for layers of memory. The therapy in his work lies in the moves that are made in front of the material: addition, subtraction, excavation and injury, engraving and dressing, as a combat medic in front of a wounded soldier.
